“I have learnt from my years of Substance Use Disorder counselling that it is never about the person’s substance of choice but the belief that promotes and maintain the behaviour that lead to a lost of control. The same can be true for most other types of addictive behaviours. Most of which are usually rooted in a maladaptive choice by the person in which they made the conscious or unconscious choice response to a Life challenge, crisis or conflict to cope with the situation.”
